The History of Railway Development in Perth

As a student at Perth College in the 1992/93 year one of the subjects studied was local history.  Well! What can I say?  It had to be the history of the railway in Perth!  The study included reading local newspaper reports and trade union minutes.  It uncovered some fascinating information.  Well at least I found it interesting.  For example, during the construction phase a contractor went bankrupt, and didn't pay the workers.  During the subsequent riot the local paper reported on how the heads' of the rioters had broken Police batons.  Ah! The good old days.  So go on have a look - at least the pictures are interesting
